How many countries have qualified for World Cup 2022?

In a stunning contest in Senegal, the Africa Cup of Nations final was practically replayed. A penalty shootout was required to separate the two teams, and Senegal was victorious from 12 yards once again.

Egypt won the first leg thanks to an own goal by Saliou Ciss four minutes in, and he was involved again four minutes into this game. He won a left-footed free-kick, which was hoisted into the area. The ball found Senegal's Boulaye Dia in the middle of the goal, who punched it into the back of the net after a poor defensive header.

The game became a cagey, scrappy affair after then. Much of the game was disrupted by fouls and injuries, with Egyptian players receiving treatment on a frequent basis. In the first half, the visitors were obliged to make two alterations. The game was lighted up by a few high-quality moments, but it rapidly settled into a pattern of Senegal attacking and Egypt counter-attacking. This went on for a long period of time.

Senegal had a lot of shots but didn't make many good ones, while Egypt's Zizo (Ahmed Sayed) came off the bench and had two opportunities to score but couldn't convert either of them. Mohamed Salah had a quiet game, whilst Sadio Mane, who dropped deeper from his No. 10 position on a frequent basis, was more impactful as the player.

Egypt were kept in the game by Mohammed El Shenawy, who made numerous saves to keep the hosts out in the first half of extra time, with the standout being a dive across his line to prevent a certain goal from Ismaila Sarr. The second half of extra time had less tempo, as players suffered from cramps and the Egyptians looked happy to settle for penalties, despite the result last time.

Did Senegal qualify for the World Cup?

They were separated by 12 yards after being inseparable for 210 minutes of football. The first four penalties were all failures, which was a stunning turn of events: Salah blasted his shot over the bar after Kolibaly struck the crossbar. Ciss' penalty was saved, while Zizo's attempt sailed over the crossbar. Ismaila Sarr eventually found the back of the net as El Shenawy dived in the wrong direction. El Solia drew level with a stunning finish off the bar.

After Bamba Dieng scored, Mostafa Mohamed's penalty was saved by Mendy, giving Senegal the lead. Senegal would win the shootout if Sadio Mane scored. That's exactly what he did, blasting the ball into the net. Supporters rushed the pitch to celebrate with the players, who will be flying to Qatar in November. Flares were ignited in the stands as fans rushed the pitch to celebrate with the players, who will be traveling to Qatar in November. It was a rematch of the Egyptian side's agony from just over a month ago, as they produced virtually nothing throughout the game.

Senegal will take the first penalty at 3:33 p.m. Koulibaly takes the initiative.

3:40 p.m.: The teams prepare for penalties with another light show, but the atmosphere can't be any hotter. Before the coaching staff returns to the bench, the Senegalese squad huddles together in prayer. The teams are all set.

Extra Time ends with a score of 1-1 on aggregate. Senegal and Egypt are unable to be separated once more, and a penalty shootout will determine who will proceed to Qatar.

122nd minute: The allowed time ends with stretcher bears sprinting onto the pitch to attend to an Egyptian player.

Senegal has failed to put the same pressure as they did in the first half of extra time in the 120th minute. As two minutes of extra time are signaled, Egypt wins a free kick in the host team's half.

116th minute: The number of stoppages has risen, as is generally the case in extra time. A Senegalese player has cramps, while an Egyptian player appears to be down after being thrown to the ground

113th minute: El Shenawy has been content to focus on his goal kicks for as long as he can. Egypt has lost a player, but the most hardworking stretcher bearers in football have returned to action. Off the field, Kolibaly and Salah had a spat, but it goes nowhere.

Egypt is still holding fast in the 110th minute, but it's a one-way street for the time being. Senegal is always wanting to hurry things up, but the visitors are more than happy to do the exact opposite.

Senegal has picked up where they left off in the 107th minute. From the outskirts of the area, Pape Gueye fires a shot at goal, but it misses the target. He never had complete control of the shot, in fact.

Halftime (Extra Time): After the first 15 minutes, both sides switch to fluid and have a short coaching session. Although there is a light display going on in the stadium, the atmosphere for this match has been excellent. The atmosphere is nearly overwhelming, with home fans waving their cellphone lights. The lights have been turned back on, and the teams have formed a line to begin the game.

El Shenawy is putting in work in the 104th minute. Senegal has a deep free kick that they work wide before chipping into the box. Cisse is left with the task, and he twists and shoots towards the goal. The goalkeeper is caught off guard by the shot, but he swiftly recovers to keep the ball out. Cisse is the first to notice when the ball comes free and prods it.El Shenawy is once again in position to stop the ball from reaching the goal.

101st minute: Egypt has a bit more possession of the ball and is able to exploit holes as they disrupt Senegal's midfield, but they are unable to create opportunities when they do.

Two corners, two opportunities in the 97th minute. Idrissa Gueye's cross is passed on to Cisse, who drives for goal, prompting an acrobatic save from El Shenawy, who has to tip the ball over. Senegal has a corner, and this time the header is right at the net, who manages to keep it. Senegal counters a few minutes later, and Mané shoots the ball across goal, all the way to Ismaila Sarr, who appears certain to score! El Shenawy, on the other hand, dices over his goal and becomes large, somehow managing to keep it out on the field.the dividing line Egypt is under siege in this country.

93rd minute: Nampalys Mendy was replaced by Cheihou Kouyate at the conclusion of the second half, while Boulaye Dia was replaced by Pape Gueye. Senegal has the upper hand in extra time and has a left-footed corner kick.

Senegal 1, Egypt 0 at halftime

The 90-minute period has come to an end! The teams could only generate a goal for the home team after four minutes, like they did in the first leg. We have thirty minutes of extra time on our hands. The teams appear to be exhausted, and it may come down to who can maintain their focus.

92nd minute: Ismaila returns the ball to the area after the corner barely goes over Cisse's head. Cisse leaps to meet it at the far post, but his header isn't strong enough, and he can't steer it back into the goal.

Senegal wins a corner in the 91st minute, and Sadio Mané acts like a cheerleader as he moves towards the corner flag.

87th minute: Aliou Cissé gets sent off after voicing his displeasure with the referee's choices. At the time, there are a lot of fatigued passes being made.

Ismaila Sarr has a golden opportunity in the 83rd minute. Sadio Mané has played him in and he is through on goal. He tries to place the ball in the bottom corner with his body exposed, but it curls wide of the far post.

77th minute: Koulibaly attempts to clear the ball when he might pass it to his goalie for the second time in this half. He clears the ball for a corner this time, but it isn't successful. It's possible that the stadium's noise prevents him from hearing Mendy's yells. Zizo has a wonderful chance from the left, but he misses the goal by opening up his right foot.

Zizo makes an almost instant effect in the 71st minute. Salah has the ball on the right side of the box and lofts a fantastic ball into it. Zizo, who has come in from the left, rises to his feet and puts his head to it. From a distance of 12 yards, he heads barely wide and unnoticed.

Bouna Sarr is sent off in the 70th minute.

Trezuget and Elneny are out for Zizo and Dunga, respectively.

Gueye takes the free kick in the 66th minute, but it's a curling attempt that never threatens to hit El Shenawy's crossbar on the right side.

Mané gets a free kick on the edge of the D and pushes forward with the ball before being scythed down in an Ibrahim — El Solia sandwich. 64th minute: Mané wins a free kick on the edge of the D and drives forward with the ball before being scythed down in an Ibrahim — El Solia sandwich.

62nd minute: Egypt has shown more in the second half than they did in the first when football has been allowed to take play. They've responded with speed on a few of occasions, but the last pass hasn't been well-weighted. The more visitors open up, the more room Senegal's forwards have to maneuver attack.

58th minute: The referee, Mustapha Ghorbal, is doing a good job of keeping things under control. In this game, there aren't many minutes that go by without a major flashpoint erupting. Another brawl breaks out, but the official manages to break it up.

It's a little sloppy in the 53rd minute. Salah is shoved about, another player is slapped, and Koulibaly is scolded. The man in the middle is simply giving a warning. Trezuget will take the free kick on the left, which is heading clear. Break in Senegal As El Shenawy comes out of his goal, Dia does a good job of getting into the area and, after some quick footwork, goes down. The referee is refusing to award Senegal a penalty.

51st minute: As I type, Edouard Mendy is called out to smother effectively at his right hand post as Trezuget closes in behind him. Another Egyptian player has fallen to the ground on the outskirts of the arena. The stretcher is called in by the referee, and VAR is checking for a possible red card.

49th minute: We're back in action, and the second half is off to a somewhat more muted start. Egypt has won the ball in midfield on a few occasions, but its counterattacks have failed to materialise. So far, Edouard Mendy hasn't made much of an impact on the game.

Has Egypt qualified for the World Cup 2022?

It's still 1-0 to the hosts after five minutes of injury time. There was a lot of energy, a lot of aggression, a lot of injuries, and not much goalmouth activity in the first half.

45th minute: Senegal attacks once more, easily passing through Egypt as the visitors try to push high up. To cut off Bouna Sarr's driven cross, Ashour must send the ball over his own crossbar.

Senegal counter-attacks in the 44th minute. Mané sends Ismaila Sarr down the left flank, where he locates the overlapping runner, and the subsequent cross is aimed towards a corner. The set piece yields nothing, but Senegal manages to thread together a few moves.

Nampalys Mendy shoots from a distance in the 42nd minute. It's big, but not too big.wide, and it's the closest either team has been to scoring in a long time.

Gueye gets booked for a challenge on Marmoush in the 38th minute, and the Egyptian striker is sent off. The stretcher bearers have returned.

35th minute: Rabia receives the game's first booking for a strong challenge on Ismaila Sarr. He descends on his own and is placed on a stretcher. If things keep going this way, the stretcher carriers may wind up covering more territory than the rest of the group. Rabia is on her way to Ashour.

Senegal break forward in the 32nd minute after Elneny gives the ball away, but it all for naught. Egypt has already lost a lot of players to injury in the opening half hour, so the game hasn't really acquired a rhythm yet.

29th minute: Idrissa Gueye shoots a dipping shot from distance towards goal on the left side, forcing El Shenawy to drop low. To his left, the Egyptian goalie palms it wide. Gaber has been forced to leave the game due to an injury, and Ashraf has taken his place.

23rd minute: The fouls have subsided, and the game has begun. There hasn't been much goalmouth action, but Senegal is getting more of the ball. Mané is attempting to link play by diving deep.

17th minute: Play is stopped when an Egyptian player is hit in the face with a ball, and play resumes with a drop ball.

16th minute: Senegal attacks along the right flank, leaving the visitors scrambling in their penalty area. After then, the game is over.El Shenawy grabs a crucifix and holds it in his hands. When a bottle of water is hurled from the crowd and lands near to his calf, he is laying just outside his left hand post. The referee takes a note of it before advising him to stand up and continue playing. The game's feisty character persists.

El Fotouh gets hacked down in front of the Egyptian coaching staff in the 11th minute, but they quickly recover. So far, the game has been rough, and the referee makes it obvious to the Senegalese players that fouls will be punished.

8th minute: The fourth official is struggling to keep Carlos Queiroz and Aliou Cisse in their technical zones. Each time he receives one, he is overjoyed.

The other has strolled over to their box. The referee approaches to assist. Meanwhile, there have been several fouls on the pitch since the goal, and the ball has spent more time out of play than in play.

4th min: Mobile!

They surrendered after four minutes in the first leg, and now they've scored after four minutes in the second! The left-footed free kick is ultimately taken and sent towards the far post. The defensive headed is awful, as it falls right in the middle of the goal. Dia pokes the ball home from just beyond the six yard box.

1st minute: The hosts get off to a fast start, winning an early free kick just outside the box on the left side after a mistimed tackle by Gaber.

1:00 p.m.: It's time for the national anthems, and the Egyptian national anthem is entirely lost in the din. The home side, as one might think, has no such issues.

The officials bring the teams out at 12:57 p.m., and the atmosphere at the beautiful new stadium is electric.

12:47 p.m.: Egypt is a tough nut to crack, but they are without three potential center backs in Hegazy, Abdelmonem, and El Wensh, which Senegal will attempt to exploit.

12:40 p.m.: The game is now only twenty minutes away. In what is expected to be a hotly contested match, the host team will rely on the fans to give them an advantage.

12:00 p.m.: With the tie tied at 1-0 going into the second leg, both managers have an intriguing task. Senegal must score, and a second goal early on might put the tie out of reach for the visitors, although neither team can afford to be sloppy at the back.
